  Markham Islanders/Majors Hockey Club

Dear Families of the the Markham Islanders/Majors Hockey Club,

We all by now have heard about and seen the images on the news of the Earth Quake that has devastated Haiti. What the people there are going through is unimaginable.

Here is what we would like to do as an organization.

  1. Each team would donate $200. That is approx. $12 / player
  2. Each team would submit 1 cheque payable to the Canadian Red Cross
  3. A representative from the organization would collect all 25 cheques. (Cheques
to be dropped off in Randy’s mailbox at the rink)
  4. The total amount would be $5,000 raised by the families of the Islanders/Majors organization.
  5. With the Canadian Government matching all donations, that would be a total of
$10,000 from the families of Markham Islanders/Majors Hockey Club.

We are asking if each team manager can speak to the parents on their team and make sure they are ok with the donation. Once approved by the parents of the team, the manager would drop off a team cheque in Randy’s mailbox at the rink. We would like to have the cheque submitted by Sunday January 31st at 8pm in order to get the
donation into the Red Cross by Monday February 1st. It is imperative to expedite this process so the people in Haiti can get the much needed supplies and medical attention.

We thank you for your generosity and efforts in making this happen.

Yours Truly,
Randy Jacobs
